A nearby intercom is useful when you want to stay in conversation without repeatedly pressing a button or using a phone speaker. These are ideas to try with a companion, not claims of completed field testing. Start with two compatible phones and headsets, and check both audio directions in a quiet setting.
A walk together
Walking side by side is not always practical on a path. A hands-free conversation can help two people keep talking while remaining close enough for the local phone connection. An open-ear or other appropriate headset may suit the setting, but the important check is whether you can remain aware of people and hazards around you.
Try this on foot in a safe, permitted area. Do not treat an open-ear design as a promise of awareness, and do not use Vocari as a safety signal or as a reason to accept a risky environment.
A shared, noncritical task
Two people arranging materials, setting up a room or doing a hands-on hobby may prefer to keep their hands free. A headset with a boom microphone can put voice pickup close to the mouth, although the actual result still needs testing on your phones.
At work, follow site rules. If hearing protection is required, ordinary earbuds and listening ANC are not substitutes. Vocari is not intended for emergency coordination, machine-safety instructions, aviation operations or any task where a missed message could cause harm.
Keeping in touch in a busy venue
In a busy but suitable setting, listening through a headset can avoid sending a companion’s voice through an exposed phone speaker. Try the equipment before relying on it for an ordinary conversation. Background sound affects microphones and listening differently, and phone-to-phone range changes with walls, obstructions and interference.
There is no universal distance to plan around. Stay nearby, test in the actual location, and agree on a simple fallback such as meeting at a visible landmark if the connection ends.
Know the current boundaries
Vocari currently serves two nearby people. It is not a group network or a long-distance internet calling service. Vocari supports Android–Android, Android–iPhone and iPhone–iPhone conversations. Android is on Google Play, and the completed iPhone app is awaiting Apple review before public App Store availability. No router or internet connection is needed for the nearby session.
Start small, choose suitable personal audio, and end the session when you are done. If a headset disconnects, reconnect it. If audio does not resume, end the session and start a fresh Host session. Do not expect the phone speaker to take over.
