A good start makes a difference

Let’s get you
connected.

A short setup guide, a few practical checks, and a real contact when you need help.

First conversation

Two phones.
One simple setup.

  1. Get the app on both phones

Download Vocari from Google Play for compatible Android phones. The completed iPhone version supports Android–iPhone and iPhone–iPhone conversations and is awaiting Apple review before public App Store availability. iPhone information.

  2. Connect each person’s headset

Pair a compatible Bluetooth headset to each phone. It must support calling with both its microphone and earpiece. Check these on a normal call first, then turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

  3. Open Vocari and allow the required permissions

Review the app’s terms and privacy policy. Allow microphone, Bluetooth/nearby-device and local-network access when requested. The camera is used for QR scanning; available prompts vary by platform.

  4. Choose Host on one phone, Join on the other

On the first phone: Host → Show QR Code. On the second: Join → Scan QR Code. Follow any operating-system connection prompt. Alternatively, use Show Join Code and Enter Join Code.

  5. Check both directions, then talk

Wait for the connection, speak from each headset, and check that the other person hears you. Keep the phones nearby. Use End to finish; start a fresh Host session for a new conversation.

Before you buy

Compatible means
more than Bluetooth.

Vocari uses the Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile (HFP) for simultaneous microphone and playback. A product that only plays music is not enough.

What you need today

  • Two compatible phones with Vocari: Android–Android, Android–iPhone or iPhone–iPhone. Check the store for device eligibility. The iPhone app is awaiting Apple review.
  • One compatible Bluetooth headset with a microphone per person.
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switched on, required permissions enabled, and phones within usable local range. No Wi-Fi router or internet access is needed.

The phones connect directly. You do not need a router, even one without internet service, and you do not need to join an existing Wi-Fi network. Wired headsets, groups, and internet calls are not current features.

Try these first

A clear next step.

Start with the headset, then the phone connection. A successful music test does not prove the headset microphone works.

I can’t hear the other person.
Check each headset’s battery, Bluetooth connection and volume. Test microphone and playback in an ordinary phone call. Return to Vocari, confirm the session is connected, and check the conversation’s mute control on both phones. If needed, end the session and host again. Vocari does not intentionally fall back to the phone speaker or microphone.
The QR code or Join Code won’t connect.
Keep both phones nearby with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on. Use the QR scanner inside Vocari and allow any required camera or local-network prompt. Keep the Host waiting screen open. If the host canceled or ended the session, start a fresh Host session and use its new QR or Join Code. Don’t reuse a code from an ended session. As a last resort, close the app completely on both phones, reopen it, and start a fresh Host session.
The conversation has a delay or drops out.
Move the phones closer and reduce obstructions. Confirm the headsets are close to their paired phones and not switching to another device through multipoint. Check both directions in a quieter setting. Headsets, phones, interference and surroundings all affect the result; there is no universal Vocari range or latency figure.
My headset disconnected. What now?
Reconnect the headset in the phone’s Bluetooth settings. If audio does not resume, end the session and start a fresh Host session. The app requires personal audio and does not intentionally switch the conversation to the handset.
What are the live transcript bubbles?
Vocari includes optional on-device speech-to-text. Tap the Vocari C to show or hide available live bubbles. Saving transcript text is a separate, deliberate action. A LIVE indicator means a communication session, not audio recording. Check the app’s current controls and obtain any required consent before saving or sharing text.
Do I need a Wi-Fi router?
No. Vocari connects the nearby phones directly. Neither a router with internet access nor an offline router is required. Keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on; you do not need an existing shared Wi-Fi network.
How private is a conversation?
Vocari is designed around a local connection, personal listening and no Vocari account or cloud voice service. This is not a claim of end-to-end application encryption. App-store, operating-system and website-hosting services have their own policies. Read the privacy information for more detail.
Can I use Vocari at work or while exercising?
Use it only where appropriate and permitted. Maintain awareness of your surroundings and follow site rules. Ordinary earbuds and active noise cancellation are not substitutes for rated hearing protection. Do not rely on Vocari for emergencies, driving, aviation operations or other safety-critical tasks. See the terms of use.

Vocari for iPhone

The iPhone app is built, supports cross-platform conversations, and is awaiting Apple review before public App Store availability. For questions about the iPhone version, contact Vocari. Android is available on Google Play.
